Moclín, a picturesque white village in Andalucía, approximately 45 minutes’ drive from Granada, is the breathtaking backdrop for this painting holiday. Painters of all abilities – even novices – will discover how to design and produce non-representational pieces. Part of the schedule will be spent outdoors, working on tutorials in the open. These initial charcoal drawings and paintings will then be expanded upon in the studio, with attendees producing a number of abstract landscapes in acrylics to be exhibited in the village. The group has exclusive access of the hotel, which is built around an central patio and has a rooftop with panoramic vistas over the hills. The price encompasses five days’ art instruction; full board; and an excursion to the nearby fortress and other points of interest.

Vegetarian Culinary in Portugal
This sun-drenched cooking retreat, located at a riverside villa in the central Portuguese region, is inspired by the plant-based cuisine of renowned chefs. Attendees will master the art of meze spreads, take part in a falafel-making workshop, perfect brunch dishes such as shakshuka, and make hearty mains like a rich mushroom stew and moussaka. The schedule includes visits to the village market and a nearby winery to sample Portuguese wines, along with free time for strolls by the nearby river, to relax on the deck or take a dip in the infinity pool. This coastal town is the perfect location for a sea shanty weekend. Guests will learn historic sailing songs from a experienced musician, and have a go at writing their own. There will be voice exercises, breathing exercises, performance tips and a final evening concert. The retreat is based at a country house with views of St Ives Bay. Full board are provided, including a Cornish cream tea on the first day, cooked or continental breakfasts, packed lunches and evening meals. Traditional rum, unfortunately, is not included. Author and lecturer an experienced instructor runs the regular sessions on this authors' getaway. He covers topics including story structure, character development, locations and tension, to sending manuscripts to publishers.
