Barcelona to Host First Game at Upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend

Barça revealed they will play at the still-under-construction Camp Nou on Saturday. They will welcome the Bilbao team in the Spanish league over two years after they moved out to allow renovations to start.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited though over 45,000 attendees can be present as per the current authorization. Once fully finished, the stadium’s capacity will reach close to 105,000 fans, up from the previous 99,000. Barça announced finished work included an updated entryway for the team along with upgraded changing facilities.

Stadium Testing

Barcelona held a public practice inside the stadium earlier this month. The club said they were hoping for permission from Uefa for their upcoming Champions League fixture facing Eintracht next month at Camp Nou. Their recent games have been held at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
