Trump's Family Member Gets Professional Guidance from Golf Legend Woods Before Professional Golf First Appearance

Kai Trump can count on plenty of well-known supporters when she begins her first LPGA appearance on Thursday.

This teenage golfer, who is connected to Donald Trump, obtained a sponsor's invitation to participate at Florida's Annika event in the Sunshine State.

Her grandfather, a passionate golfer, owns multiple courses worldwide and regularly plays against his granddaughter.

"He's quite skilled. I can't reveal details but we have some close matches," she revealed.

The golfer shared that Trump, who won't be present, advised her: "Simply stay calm."

"My grandpa essentially told me to compete and enjoy myself," she added.

"From my perspective, he's just a regular grandfather. He won't be there for the tournament. He's busy with presidential duties, so he's somewhat preoccupied."

While still amateur, Kai has played in a mere three competitions in 2024 and holds ranking 461 in the American Junior Golf Association listings.

However she can receive tips from 15-time major champion, who is dating her mother.

"He represents the greatest golfer worldwide," the young golfer said.

"Furthermore, he's a superior person. He advised me to compete, have fun, following whatever happens."

The golfer will compete against some of top competitors in the sport at the Annika, such as second-ranked Nelly Korda, British Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and last year's winner Lilia Vu.

Officials commented that her participation exposes golf to different demographics, particularly with youth audiences.

The social media influencer has millions of followers and recently launched her own apparel and wellness company.

The competition starts at 17:30 GMT.
