The family of a child who received life-threatening wounds after being thrown from the tenth level of the Tate Modern have announced their "little knight" has achieved his goal of being able to run, jump, and swim once more.

The young child was six when he was thrown from a balcony by a youth, then 17 years old.

The boy, who was vacationing with his parents in August 2019 when targeted, survived a 100ft drop but experienced life-changing injuries, including a bleed on the brain and broken bones.

Relatives said in an news on a fundraising page, they were happy that he had been capable to advance with his jumping, swimming and running before his upcoming procedure.

"He can't perform as other children his age, naturally, but we cannot describe his movements in different terms than by saying it's running, jumping, and swimming."

"It's different, just for a few meters or a very small height, but it's an incredible achievement."

He, who passed many months in intensive care, has persisted to gain brain resilience.

Relatives explained although his recall abilities were still highly constrained, they were operational and improving, so he was "gaining a basic understanding at his own pace, which increasingly allows him to be integrated with other children."

'Goal Achieved'

Parents noted: "He is also growing up, and due to his work with the physical therapist, he now permits himself to unwind."

"Previously, to counteract his disability on the left part, he held his right side constantly tense, which resulted in pain."

"Now, our pre-teen (we must acknowledge the truth, he's grown up now) has realized that he has to give himself pauses; we have to alert him less."

He has also reached a long-held goal with his father: "As we reside a couple of miles from the sea, they had established their end target of having a al fresco lunch at the seaside and then coming back."

"After multiple step-by-step training sessions, they finally achieved their 2.5 hour journey. They came back exhausted but overjoyed. Objective met."

After a court case at the central criminal court, the teenager was found guilty of murder attempt and was jailed in the year 2020 for no less than a decade and a half.
